Primary

Well, I never thought I would be able to say this but...I have been released as Primary President of the Gettysburg Ward. I had been in the calling for two years. Although I am glad that I took the responsibility of this calling, I am even more glad that its over. However, I do want to say that I am blessed to have known the children and the adults involved in Primary. I have learned a lot about myself through this calling and a lot about children. I'm sad for the fact that I don't get to interact with the children anymore, which is the what I looked forward to every week. BUT I will not miss the paperwork or weekly Sunday meetings. For those who know how I am I like to keep things organized and am kind of controlling of how things should be. I definetly will NOT miss scouts. (Oh, how I dread the scouting program---venting---just not my favorite thing to handle) and I will NOT miss putting together teacher packets for the new year. I'm excited for the kids to have a new leader and to learn more about the gospel. When I started as President we only had maybe a total of 7 kids every Sunday and now it has grown to approximately 15 every Sunday. I will miss hanging out in the Primary room during Sunday School and catching up on the latest gossip.

"A" is for Awesome

Usually I don't like to brag, but I've gotten 2 "A's" in both my math and history classes. I'm so excited. When I started school in September I didn't think that I would do as well as I have done now. My grades in school were usually B's or C's. I love Fresno Pacific University. I have never had problem with anything at this school and I absolutely love saying that I go to this school. But I've come to the realization that if I want to get good grades in school that I really do have to sacrifice my social life in order to do so. Since September I have spent my entire weekends and most week nights doing my homework. I've never done that before and I've always put my social life before my education. I'm so thankful to have family and friends who support me through this step in my life. I am especially thankful for my husband for putting up with my shenanigans and for proof reading my papers. (He's so smart). In February I will actually be starting the Degree Completion Program at FPU to get my BA in Liberal Arts then continue to go to FPU to get my teaching credential. The Program will last 18 months straight. We'll see how I handle it. On top of the classes I have to take for the Program, I also have to take some short-term classes that FPU didn't accept from Fresno City of Fresno State. Argh. I hope you all understand, but I have to get down to business and get my degree.
